Safeguarding Information

Safeguarding

At Ystruth Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, and we expect all staff, governors, volunteers, visitors and parents to share this commitment.

We work hard to create a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, listened to and protected. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we take our duty of care seriously.

Working Together to Keep Children Safe

We believe safeguarding works best when schools, families and the wider community work together. By sharing concerns early, we can help ensure that every child at Ystruth Primary School feels safe, supported and able to achieve their full potential.

Our Safeguarding Approach

  • We follow the Wales Safeguarding Procedures and relevant Welsh Government guidance.
  • We have clear policies and procedures in place to protect children from harm, including abuse, neglect, bullying and online risks.
  • All staff and volunteers receive regular safeguarding training and understand how to recognise and report concerns.
  • We work closely with families, support services and the Local Authority to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

Safeguarding Team:
